Write & Publish: InstructionsYour school will create two pages for our global eBook. Here's how:
1 - Download the Book Creator iOS app on your iPad. 2 - Using your iPad, download our eBook template and open it in Book Creator. 3 - Complete the template following these instructions. We’re hoping to publish an eBook that’s engaging, informative, and also visually cohesive so it can be a useful resource for readers from this project and beyond. To achieve that goal, we ask that you follow the template and the directions carefully. 4 - Email us your completed pages as an EPUB file by Friday, April 17, 2015. A note about background images: You will need two horizontal background images, one for each two-page spread. The images may be a photograph, painting, drawing, or cut paper collage. If you’re looking for a way to have all your students participate, here’s one idea: project a photo onto posterboard or chart paper, and have students draw, paint, or glue colored cut paper over it to create collaborative artwork. You could then use your iPad to capture a photo of the students’ creation! Look at the incredible cut paper illustrations in If You Lived Here for inspiration. Of course, we’re not expecting anyone to duplicate the meticulous technique of Giles Laroche -- but studying his book might give your young illustrators some ideas. All background images must be original work to ensure our published book follows copyright guidelines. |
